2019: CIE5251-09 Structural Design - Special Structures (Grade: 7,7)

This courses focuses on special structures. More specifically, their mechanical behaviour, structural analysis, design process, special design techniques and practical use of tools for analyses and design.

Types of covered special structures are
  1. Space frames
  2. Shell structures
  3. Membrane structures
  4. biomimetics

This course taught me some of the basics of finite element methods, using DIANA FEA and creating more complicated shapes in Grasshopper.
