2019: AR0026 Multi-disciplinary design course (Grade: 7,0)

In this course a collaborative integral Multi-disciplinary design of a city block in Brussels was made. MEGA is a ten weeklong project concerned with the design, computation, engineering, and construction management of a high-rise building. The design project in 2019 deals with a city block in Brussels. This block is based on the current international restricted interdisciplinary architectural competition in two phases for the construction of a “Real estate complex for the European Commission in Brussels -Project Loi 130”. A fellow student and I created the Structural design of the full project. We were helped by Steven van Eck, Structural Engineer at Pieters Bouwtechniek.

This experience taught me how to work in a multi-disciplinary design team and how to transfer my idea’s and vision to team members with less knowledge in these topics. Furthermore, the course introduced me to working with SCIA.
