Current situation

Since 2021 I have been working as a structural engineer at Royal HaskoningDHV

In June 2021 I finished my graduation research at Arcadis into Multi-Disciplinary Optimization of Timber High-Rise..

I studied Building Engineering at TU Delft, with a specialization within this master’s degree in Structural Design. (Average grade: 7.5)

I developed this website during my Masters at TU Delft to learn about programming and website building. This website only includes my work up to finishing my Masters degree.

About Me

I finished my Civil Engineering Bachelor’s degree nominally at TU Delft in 2018. In this bachelor’s degree I incorporated a 6-month period of studying abroad in Prague, following courses about architecture. After my bachelor’s degree I started my master’s degree at TU Delft studying Building Engineering. Between September 2019 and March 2020, I worked part-time at Betonson (Van Nieuwpoort group) as a calculator of prefabricated concrete floors. Between April 2020 and June 2020, a study-related project in the Himalaya’s was prepared by three students and me. Since this got cancelled`due to the closing of the Indian borders, I am open to part-time working opportunities.

In September 2020, I am planning to start my master’s thesis. My interests are:
  • Parametric Design. This was my favourite course in my master’s degree, since it combines two things that intrigue me: Structural Design and Programming.
  • Circular Economy. I consider this to be a very interesting topic, since it is a concept which will help reduce the footprint by the Construction Industry significantly.
  • Modular building & demountability of structures.

Working Experience

Between September 2019 and March 2020, I worked part-time at Betonson (Van Nieuwpoort group) as a calculator of prefabricated concrete floors. This was my first job in the Civil Engineering business. I gained a lot of knowledge on the dynamics on the work floor and the collaboration with colleagues. This job also provided me insights in a lot of different building projects.
In 2019 I was the treasurer of the Introduction Committee of the Student Tennis Association of TU Delft 'DSTV Obvius'. I focused on handling the budget. Together we organised various well attended events. This was a great success since we brought in the highest amount of new members since the founding of the association within the budget.
In 2015-2016 I was mentor of ten freshman students at TU Delft. This experience taught me how to lead a group of students and how to share my knowledge and insights with these new students.
